Beyond the cities, beyond the villages

World Concern targets the isolated and desperate in Africa, SE Asia and the Americas

Imagine flying into a developing country. The airport is hot and filled with people from unfamiliar places. You get into a truck and begin a dusty journey, beyond the small towns, to villages where people need assistance the most.

World Concern works in a variety of places, but we excel at providing relief in areas not serviced by other agencies.

Our staff includes more than 1,000 people. 95% of us are citizens of the countries where we work. This provides financial value so that we can take on more work. It also gives us a better understanding of the problems we face on a daily basis. Additionally, by employing citizens of the countries where we work, we employ some of the people we may otherwise provide with aid.

Here's where we work:

Burkina Faso, Chad, Kenya, Somalia, Sudan, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Tibet, Vietnam, Bolivia, Haiti, Zambia.

We also provide de-worming medication or isolated services to the following countries:

Ethiopia, Uganda, Nicaragua, D.R.C. (Congo), Rwanda, Niger, Zimbabwe, Sierra Leone.

Child sponsorship

Bring hope and a future to a child for $28 a month. Our sponsorship program provides an education and basic needs.

AIDS education

Some children lose both parents to AIDS-related illnesses. We educate and provide for orphans, protecting the most vulnerable.

Micro-finance

The smallest loans mean big things to people with nothing. Learn how we're offering hope to aspiring businesspeople.
