World Concern brings people out of poverty

Beginning with de-worming medication and safe water, we build communities

World Concern brings people out of povertyLook at the menu above under "What We Do" and you will find we have very targeted goals. Respond to Disasters. Dig wells. Educate people. These are vitally important programs. It is our commitment to take these programs and run them with efficiency, while using the servant example of Jesus Christ to inspire our work.

In everything we do, we strive to help communities develop in a lasting way. We know that offering people short-term handouts is necessary at times, but it doesn’t solve the greater problem of extreme poverty. The solutions we offer – the work we do, with your help – create sustainable change.

An example of this is how health and sanitation are improved in a developing country. Usually our first contact with people in many countries is to administer de-worming medications. Without these inexpensive pills and vitamins, people young and old have difficulty improving their health and progressing toward a more successful future. We teach people about hygiene and health, build latrines and provide sources for clean water. After we solve core problems relating to unsafe and unsanitary conditions, we build lives. We share friendship. We give people a new reason to smile.

World Concern: offering Life, Opportunity and Hope in 24 of the most desperate countries on earth.
