Imagine having to walk 15 miles round trip for a few gallons of clean water. Then imagine getting to the well to find long lines, filthy water, or nothing at all.
Such difficult conditions are the rule for many people living in Bolivia, Kenya, and other parched countries around the globe. But it doesn’t have to be. World Concern’s Water For All program provides water wells in villages with desperate need of reliable clean water sources close to home.
Water For All has developed a motorized well drilling and pump technology that allows poor families to drill their own water wells for very low cost. More than 2,000 wells have been drilled with Water For All technology in eight countries. The costs per well are often as low as $100 with well depths up to 350 feet.
“The water need is so great and the casualties are individuals like you and me, just in different circumstances,” Water For All International Director Terry Waller told World Concern. “Every six seconds someone dies of water-related problems around the world.”
