Children in Dak Noi, Laos, are dying from lack of clean water, diarrhea, and deadly diseases. Little ones who are healthy enough to work spend their days walking down a steep, dangerously slippery hill to collect contanimated water, then carrying it back up the hill to their families.

The families in Dak Noi are some of the poorest in the world … living on less than a dollar a day. There's no enough food, and children suffer from malnourishment. Most children are not in school. The only school is more than a mile away.

With World Concern, you'll walk alongside families in Dak Noi, helping them build their lives and their community from the ground up. Together, we’ll focus on long-term solutions, so the people of Dak Noi can stand on their own.

The Story of Dak Noi

It can take an entire day by vehicle, struggling through waist-deep mud up a mountainside to reach the remote Laotian village of Dak Noi. Isolation prevents its residents from being able to access food, education, and medical care. Almost no one here can read or write. Many villages like this in the Sekong region don’t even have written languages.

Because of their ethnic background and remote location, people in Dak Noi receive little support from the government or outside sources.

You can help us reach children and families in this village. We’ve got a plan and experience bringing long-term change to villages like this that includes food security, education, better health, and a future beyond extreme poverty.
