Updates from the field

David Eller in Haiti World Concern President David Eller is on his way to Haiti, gathering supplies in Puerto Rico today. He will fly with the supplies to Port Au Prince in a donated cargo plane, then assist staff on the ground in Haiti who have served more than 42,000 people since the Jan. 12 earthquake.

The plane is filled with food - mainly beans and oil - and items not easily available in Port Au Prince. These items include pallet jacks, 2,000 pairs of work gloves, 1,200 dust masks and large bolt cutters to clip rebar. Eller also has medical supplies, including bandages and surgical kits.

"It's been an interesting day," Eller says. "I now have a full plane to go in to Port Au Prince, but we have work to do yet."

World Concern has found resources in every way imaginable, buying food locally, accepting donations from other countries and governments, and sending supplies in from the United States. With this ceaseless effort, World Concern's staff is reaching as many as 8,500 people a day, supplying them with a two-week supply of food.

Thank you to everyone who is stepping up to help those most vulnerable in Haiti!
