Within the next three days, World Concern plans to begin a massive distribution of food to some of the most vulnerable families in Port Au Prince, Haiti. We should be able to reach 25,000-30,00 people with one-month supplies of rice, beans, oil and other staples. Our partners in churches and leaders of neighborhood blockwatch groups will play a large role in identifying the most desperate families, and ensuring they safely receive help.
World Concern has also found suppliers for more gear for survival. To an estimated 3,000 people, we will supply them with tents, tarps, cooking pots, blankets and other items based on their individual needs. In the days following the earthquake, World Concern emptied its warehouse of food, water and medical supplies - and has been supplying the desperate with any new shipments of aid possible.
New photos, video clips and interviews have been uploaded to World Concern's pages on Flickr and YouTube. World Concern gives media organizations permission to use the materials with proper attribution.
