Fight Human Trafficking

2012 "Free Them" 5k Run/Walk is May 12 in Seattle!

A Tangible Way to Help Protect Children and Women

Share The "Free Them" 5k Run/Walk is a fun, easy way to take a stand against the horrific crime of human trafficking. By participating, you'll make a difference in the lives of women and children living in extreme poverty. Their circumstances put them at risk for being lured by traffickers' lies. World Concern's anti-trafficking program helps protect them and provides opportunities to earn income safely.

More than 1,200 participants and their supporters joined forces last year in the 3rd annual "Free Them" 5k. More than $100,000 was raised to help protect vulnerable women and children. With your help, we're looking forward to even greater success this year!

The family-friendly event includes prizes for top fundraisers, a bouncy house for kids, generous food and beverage donations from our fabulous sponsors, and many four-legged friends who take part in the race, along with runners and walkers of all ages.

The "Free Them" 5k is a powerful, tangible way you can make a difference in the lives of children around the world. It's time to register for this year's event, which will take place on Saturday, May 12, 2012 in Seattle, Wash. Just click the "Register Now" button to the right, and get started!

Multiply your impact by asking your friends, family and coworkers to support you. Share your fundraising page on Facebook, Twitter, via email -- and watch your donation levels go up. Every dollar you raise helps protect vulnerable children and women from slavery.

More Than 3,000 Children Will Be Trafficked Today

Child at risk of traffickingThe reality is sobering. Impoverished parents who struggle to feed their children, or who are compelled to instead feed an addiction, sell their kids to traffickers—sometimes for as little as $50! Often it comes after believing lies about job opportunities in other countries.

Other children find themselves meeting the wrong person, or being orphaned, with no good way to provide for themselves. When it's too late, they find themselves having to repay a debt to the person who bought them. Sometimes it's thousands of dollars, and it takes years to accomplish.

It doesn't have to be this way.

Once you know the facts about human trafficking, you have to act.

Learn more and do something about it.
